Lauren Spohn
Week of:
February 18, 2011 Allen Academy would like to recognize Lauren Spohn as the Allen Achiever of the week for her excellence in academics and in extra-curricular activiites. Lauren has a 4.0 grade point average and participates in accelerated classes in both Math and Spanish. She plays the piano and guitar, saxophone, trumpet and euphonium. She has also transposed and composed music for the school band. This year Lauren has played on the volleyball and basketball teams and she has run track. Lauren plays for the Dallas Texans Club Soccer Team, and her skills on the soccer field enabled her to join the Allen high school soccer team as a guest player. Lauren has also been elected as an honor camper at Camp DeSoto in Alabama for the last three years. This honor is given to the camper who best exemplifies what living a Christian life is all about. Congratulations Lauren!
James Brien
Week of:
January 9, 2011 Allen Academy would like to recognize James Brien as the Allen Achiever of the week for his excellence both in and out of the classroom. Among his many achievements, James has lettered in tennis, basketball, golf, track and field and cross country. He competed in the TAPPS academic all state cross country team, placing 8th in state. James is an avid soccer player, and in December was invited to play with the Ottawa South United Force soccer team at the 2010 Disney College Showcase Tournament. He currently plays on the Dallas Texans Aggieland 94 Select soccer team. James is a junior at Allen. He is Vice President of the student council with a grade point average of 4.03. He is also a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. Congratulations James!
Marcus Varni

December 12, 2010 Allen Academy would like to recognize Marcus Varni as the Allen Achiever of the week for not only being a straight A student, but also for his tenacity in continually exceeding expectations and striving to achieve more. Marcus is a fifth grader at Allen Academy. He always demonstrates respect for his peers and for his teachers and cooperates with others. These attributes identify him as a leader in the classroom. He is an avid reader whose favorite subjects are math and science. He has a passion for robotics, and Marcus intends to focus his future studies in the fields of Physics and Engineering. Congratulations Marcus!
Harrison Clark
Week of:
November 28, 2010 Allen Academy would like to recognize Harrison Clark as the Allen Achiever of the week for his portrayal of 'Jonas' the lead character in the recent dramatic performance of 'The Giver.' Harrison is in the sixth grade, and this is his first year at Allen. He loves his school very much! Harrison plays the piano and sings in the choir. He also plays the double bass, and he will represent Allen Academy as third chair in the Texas Region 8 Middle School Orchestra in December. In addition to achieving high grades and making the school's honor roll, Harrison enjoys playing tennis and drawing cartoons in his free time. Congratulations Harrison!
Matthew Schieffer

November 14, 2010 Allen Academy would like to recognize Matt Schieffer as the Allen Achiever of the week for his leadership on and off the football field. Matt is the Co-captain of the Ram Football team. He has been consistently named in the Eagle as a Brazos Valley Outstanding player of the week, and he has been instrumental in helping the team reach the playoffs this year. He was crowned the 2010 Allen Ram Homecoming King. Matt has lettered in Football, Baseball, Track, Cross Country and Soccer. In addition to being a great athlete and an A student, Matt also helped install a new lighting system for the theater program at Allen and was responsible for all lighting designs and operations for the most recent production of "The Giver" and for many past productions. In addition, this summer Matt earned his pilot's license. Congratulations Matt!
