Lower School Clubs

Art Club K-5

 Students will explore various art techniques, and use an assortment of mediums to complete projects based on real life, as well as from our imaginations. The purpose of Art Club is to build student’s confidence, familiarity, and skill in working with a wide variety of materials in a fun atmosphere designed to put even the least experienced artist at ease!  We welcome all students in grades K-5 to join us in expressing their creativity! However, due to group and classroom sizes, we only have room for the first 25 students who enroll.

*Please note that there is a $20 fee to cover the materials used in Art Club. Checks may be made out to Allen Academy, with LS Art Club put in the memo.

Meeting Dates: 1^st and 3^rd Wednesday of each month

French Club K-2

 Students will learn basic French conversation skills and vocabulary in a fun setting using games, books, puppets, art and discussion about weather, animals, colors, sports, food, and more!  We will do lots of singing, listening to French music, and learning French Children’s songs.  All K-2 students should feel welcome!  Everyone is a beginner and we will be enjoying friends and a new language in a welcoming, relaxed environment. 

Meeting Dates: 1^st  Monday of each month

Dates: 11/7, 12/5, 1/23 (4^th Monday because of Holiday), 2/6, 3/5, 4/2, 5/7

Time:  3:30pm – 4:00pm

French Club 3-5

 Students will learn basic French conversation skills and vocabulary in a fun setting using games, books, art, music and discussion.  All 3-5 students should feel welcome!  Everyone is a beginner and this will be a fun, relaxed club where students can develop a new and exciting interest. 

Meeting Dates: 2^nd Monday of each month (or 3^rd, depending on holidays)

Dates: 10/17 (3^rd Monday), 11/14, 12/12, 1/9, 2/13, 3/19 (3^rd Monday), 4/16 (3^rd Monday), 5/7

 Technology Club 2^nd -5^th

 In technology club, students will take their knowledge of technology and media to the next level. We will take the basic technology skills that they are learning in media to learn exciting Web 2.0 tools such as Voki, Glogster, Animoto, Voicethread, and Wix.  Due to the size of the computer lab, we only space for 16 students so please sign up quickly if you are interested.  Everyone in technology club is a beginner and this will be a fun, relaxed club where students who are interested in computers and creating projects using technology can increase their skills to make projects more fun. 

Meeting Dates: 2^nd and 4^th Wednesday of each month

Dates: 10/26, 11/9, 11/23 (no club due to Thanksgiving Break), 12/14, 12/21 (no club due to Winter Break), 1/11, 1/25, 2/8, 2/22, 3/14 (no club due to Spring Break), 3/28, 4/11, 4/25, 5/9, 5/23
