Admissions Philosophy

It is the philosophy of Allen to enroll families, not just students. Parents, legal guardians, grandparents, and all other family members play an integral role in every child's education.

By enrolling your child at Allen, parents agree to read, understand, and endorse the school's mission and policies. No school can succeed in fulfilling its mission unless parents are also committed to it. Maintain regular contact with your child's teachers, coaches, and advisor. Show your support and encouragement by participating in school activities and attending school events, especially those in which your child has a role to play.

Admissions Process

Allen Academy admits students of average to above-average ability to participate in an aggressive college-preparatory program that supports the holistic development of each and every child. Students of any race, creed, or national and ethnic origin are accepted to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded, or made available to students at the school. The school does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, color, or national and ethnic origin in its administrative, educational, or admission, policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic or other school-administered programs.

The complete application process typically includes the following steps:

  • A parent tour designed to orient parents to the overall program of the school. To schedule a tour, parents can contact us at 979-776-0731.     
  • Submission of a completed application and non-refundable $100 application fee for PK1 and PK2 and $200 application fee for Kindergarten through 12th grade. A completed application includes two recommendations from teachers who have worked with the student previously.
  • Admissions testing for students entering Kindergarten through 12th grade. After submitting an application, parents will be called to schedule this interview. 
  • A visit by the prospective student. Parents will be contacted to schedule this visit.
