Application
Our International students should have a strong base of English competency to be successful, but we will provide support for language learning when that is needed. Our goal is to help each student to succeed. Our International students begin two weeks prior to the start of the term for an orientation period. During this time they receive tutorial support in English, and have the opportunity to learn more about the culture of the school and the programs offered to them. Once school begins, students are absorbed into our mainstream classes.
The Application Process
In order to be considered for admission to Allen Academy, international students need to provide the following:
- A completed application form and fee of $100 USD (non-refundable)
- SLEP* or TOEFL** scores
- ISEE*** scores
- Letters of recommendation from an English and a Math teacher
- Academic transcript, in English, for the previous year.
- Copy of immunizations
- Copy of passport photo page
- Copy of birth certificate
- Proof of insurance
- An interview
*SLEP – Secondary Level English Proficiency Test
**TOEFL – Test of English as a Foreign Language
***ISEE – Independent School Entrance Exam
I-20/Student Visa
The I-20 will be issued to a student after we have received the signed Enrollment Agreement along with the full year's tuition and boarding fee.
We understand that the path our International students have to navigate may be a difficult one, but we are here to help in whichever way possible.
