Allen Academy's varsity athletic competition is through the Texas Christian Athletic League (T*CAL). They are classified Division I in football, cross country, baseball, golf, tennis, and track and are classified in 2A in Region 4 in volleyball and boys and girls basketball.
Statement from the Athletic Director
“This year there was great excitement on the campus, especially in the area of student activity involvement. After a very exciting and rewarding athletic season last year, 2012-2013 has been a year full of successes. Every one of Allen Academy’s Varsity teams either qualified for the playoffs or was invited to participate in the State Championships.
The Boys and Girls Basketball teams both won TCAL 2A state titles, the Volleyball team finished as runner-up and the Ram Football team concluded a 10-2 season by losing in the State Quarterfinals.
Participation is at the heart of Allen athletics and in the last year 80% of our Middle Schoolers were involved in activities, while 75% of our Upper School student body participatsd on at least one of our 10 athletic teams. Allen athletics provides a unique opportunity for the student to have their athletic participation work in concert with the Mission of the School and thus contribute to the social, physical and moral development of all its participants. The athletic program will strive to develop a student’s physical skills and abilities, and will focus on sportsmanship, teamwork, positive self-esteem, leadership, cooperation, citizenship, loyalty, character and personal responsibility.”
-Dave Bliss, Athletic Director

Athletic Philosophy
Interscholastic sports are one of a number of programs and experiences available at the Middle and Upper School level to assist students in their personal growth and development. All athletes do not perform at the same level, but maximum effort, commitment and a humble and winning attitude are requisite expectations for all team members.
