BACK IN TIME

The AP English Language and Composition course taught to eleventh graders has two objectives:  teach the skills required to pass the AP Lang and Comp test in May and engage the students in a survey of American Literature.

Well, as we studied "The Age of Faith," the famous Puritan preacher Jonathan Edwards (aka Dr Roger Schultz, TAMU professor) showed up and gave us an opportunity to sample part of his most famous sermon "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God."

When I was taking this course

When I was taking this course about 6 years ago, it was Cole Wicoxon (Rams Running Back) that played Jonathan Edwards, with a toupee and a robe on. Ms Ruthie Schultz then switched the lights off and lit candle sticks so that his enormous figure appeared as if looming from the abyss.

Later on, we had a memorable visit from Dr. Roger Schultz in February 2005, pretending he had stepped into a wrong classroom. Oddly, he had a bundle of flowers in his hand.
