Welcome to Allen Academy and thank you for visiting our website. Ours is a special school, a special
place made possible due to an unwavering commitment to our core values and the families who believe so
passionately in them. I invite you to visit our campus and to feel first-hand what a values based education
can provide your child and family. As you navigate our website and our campus, I invite you to keep in mind
the three core values which drive our programming:
• We are exclusively college preparatory. There are no tracks at
Allen Academy. Every student navigates a college preparatory curriculum resulting in Advanced Placement
courses in the Upper School. This starts in Preschool and runs through the twelfth grade. Our philosophy
is that all students are capable of high achievement, so we set the bar high and we help kids get there.
• We have focused resources for each child. This is most
demonstrable in our class sizes. The average class size at Allen Academy is 11 and we never put more than 18
students in a classroom. We believe education is a conversation, not a communication. It is an exchange of ideas,
of growth, of expression. As such, small class sizes allow us to carry on our essential conversations on
a daily basis.
• We have an inclusive, responsible, and transparent culture. That
is a mouthful and can be defined in variety of ways. For me, is boils down to our character development and
leadership program. I can assure you that our program is one of the most innovative and effective in the
state of Texas. Studies state that 80% of a person’s future success is grounded in emotional intelligence -
the ability to apply what you know and learn to the social contexts of your relationships with people. Our
program is grounded in emotional intelligence theory and is taught from Preschool through the twelfth grade.
That, in a nutshell, is Allen Academy. We firmly believe that a values-based education is the best
education for your children. In a values-based education, your children’s vision and potential is unlimited.
