Allen Varsity Runners Win 2011 State TCAL Meet

Allen Academy’s boys cross country team finished first at the TCAL state competition on October 15, 2011, in Waco, Texas. The Rams placed four runners in the top 10, including second-place finisher senior Jacob Clanton. Jacob finished just 12 seconds behind the first place runner with a time of 18:33.2 in the 5,000 meter race. Junior Michael Homman, senior James Brien, and sophomore John Brien also finished in the top 10. Twenty-nine runners competed in the race.

The Allen girls team took second at state with a strong showing in the 3,200 meter event. Lauren Spohn led her team with a third place finish and a time of 13:32.1. Natasha Kalaouze and Sarah Clanton also finished in the top 10, with 22 girls competing in the race.
