Senior Receives National Merit Scholarship Commended Status

Allen Academy is pleased to announce that Allen senior James Brien has been named a Commended Scholar in the 2012 National Merit Scholarship Program.

James is one of 34,000 students nationwide to receive this status. This places him among the top five percent of the more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2012 competition by taking the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT).

Head of School John Rouse presented a Letter of Commendation to James at an Upper School assembly on Friday. “James is an excellent example for all of our students that follow him. His hard work in class, his commitment to his fellow students, and his focus on the athletic field speak to the kind of student he is. We are proud of this accomplishment and know that it is only one of many accolades James will receive in the coming years,” Mr. Rouse said.
