Athletic Department Philosophy
Interscholastic sports are one of several programs and experiences available at Allen Academy at the middle and upper school level to assist students in their personal growth and development. Allen Academy is dedicated to teaching life skills within an athletic setting. As such, athletics can help promote the acceptance of hard work, loyalty, and dedication to tasks, convey the importance of teamwork and team unity, develop the necessity of establishing and working toward goals, and encourage the principles relating to sportsmanship and fair play. The Allen Academy coaching staff embraces the opportunity to develop Allen Academy student-athletes that will become better people. Ultimately building meaningful experiences through participation in sports as a Ram!
Athletic Department Mission
The mission of the Allen Academy Athletic Department is for student-athletes to build life skills by working hard towards their goals, value teamwork, and being accountable. When challenged these characteristics provide opportunity to achieve excellence in academics and athletics. This is done by developing physically, mentally, and emotionally healthy lifestyles. Which creates “Ram Tough” teams and individuals.

Conference affiliation (TAPPS)
Allen Academy made the move to TAPPS in 2016-17 after six years of success in the Texas Christian Athletic League (TCAL). Allen Academy was an original member of TAPPS from 1978-2010 before joining TCAL in the 2010-11 school year. While a member of TCAL, Allen won 19 state titles, finished as state runner-up 10 times, had 287 All-State honors earned by our student-athletes and was named TCAL School of the Year in both 2014 and 2015. Eight Allen student-athletes have also earned TCAL Player of the Year recognition in their sport, while five different Allen head coaches have earned Coach of the Year honors. In six years with TCAL, nine Allen graduates have gone on to compete at the collegiate level in football, basketball, golf, swimming, track & field, and baseball.
TAPPS provides the next great challenge in the growth of Allen Academy athletics. Rejoining TAPPS is a great fit at a very exciting time at Allen Academy.
Founded in 1978, TAPPS began with 20 schools. TAPPS has since grown to a membership of over 230 schools with a combined enrollment of more than 40,000 students. Schools are presently aligned in five classifications with districts across the state of Texas. Headquartered in Salado, TX, TAPPS serves to organize, stimulate, encourage and promote the academic, athletic, and fine arts programs in an effort to foster a spirit of fair play, good fellowship, true sportsmanship and wholesome competition for students.

Allen Academy participates in TAPPS for Upper School sports and the Brazos Valley Junior High League for Middle School sports. The opportunity for student-athletes to compete in the following Upper School (V) and Middle School (MS) sports include:

Fall - Cheerleading (V/MS), Cross Country (V/MS) Sixman Football (V/MS), Volleyball (V/MS)

Required Participation Forms Due August 2nd

2021-2022 Athletics Health Forms & Rank One Sports

The deadline to complete and upload all required athletic participation forms was Monday, August 2nd. Hopefully, all Middle & Upper School families have completed their Rank One Sports registration and submitted the required documents online. Please remember do not submit the forms to the school as all records are now tracked strictly through Rank One.

All students have been promoted and added to the database. We're still missing several medical forms for this school year. If you have yet to complete this, please submit the required information to Rank One Sports immediately.

You may follow the steps outlined in the parent user guide with specific instructions/visuals for creating an account and filling out the required forms. Please remember that this must be done to meet TAPPS eligibility requirements for all our high school athletes, and to track physicals for all Middle & Upper School students. If you have issues, please contact Coach Adams -
